Dear Radisson Hotel Group Family,

When I look back today, it still amazes me how our journey together began. 
It was around the opening of the then Radisson SAS Hotel at the Messekreisel in Cologne in 2003, when a young hotel director named Jürgen W. walked into our office next door simply to introduce himself. Warm-hearted, energetic, full of humor and true hospitality spirit. The kind of person you instantly remember. 

None of us knew at that moment that this simple “hello” would become the beginning of a relationship that would shape HANDON for decades to come.

Jürgen opened the door for us into the world of Rezidor and Radisson and into a world filled with remarkable people, friendships, creativity, trust, and unforgettable experiences around the globe. And yes, in those early years, things were wonderfully personal. I still remember that even choosing the fabric colors and cuts for our very first collection ever for the Radisson hotel chain in 2004 occasionally became true “Chefsache.” With a smile, I remember discussions with Kurt R. himself in Brussels, taking a genuine interest in how the collection would ultimately look and feel. Looking back today, that attention to detail says a lot about the spirit of those years.

Over time, projects grew, countries changed, and brands evolved, but one thing always remained the same: the people behind the hotels. Your passion, professionalism, and humanity are what made this journey so special for us. Jürgen is sadly no longer with us, but we still think of him often. Because without him, this story may never have happened.
